How to create a license model
With saasmetrix, you can create individual licensing models for each application and assign them to users.
In the detail view of each application, you will find the "Licenses" field at the bottom right. Once an application has been successfully connected, the licenses already detected by saasmetrix will be listed here.
If you want to manually create a license model in an application, you can do so by following this step by step guide:
- Start by clicking on the “+ Add license” button at the bottom right in your licenses tab
- Now you can fill in all your information, including the license name, billing unit, billing period, price, whether you want to automatically assign this license to new users and end of contract dates, including the option to set reminder e-mails.
Here is a quick explanation of what the billing units mean:
- Per User: The license is charged per user
- Flat Rate: An amount is specified that is paid regardless of the number of users.
- Quota: This is where you specify how many licenses you have purchased and at what price. For example, you buy 100 licenses from Microsoft for €10. Then you would pay 1000€. The difference to per user is that all licenses are always charged. Of the 100 licenses you bought, it may be that only 50 are used, but you still must pay for the 100 licenses.
It is possible to create multiple price models to manage different types of contracts. For example, this makes it possible to separate monthly and yearly contracts. To create multiple price models, simply click on the "Add price" button on the top right.
- Once you have filled in all the relevant information, you can save your changes and assign your newly created license to your users.
- By clicking on the 3 dots on the right, you can edit or delete a license.
